The Punjab Assembly has passed a resolution seeking a ban on the celebrities from hosting Ramazan transmissions 2019.
It has been a trend, set now that celebrities host the Ramazan transmissions for the past couple of years, and many people criticize over it. They say that only religious scholars should be allowed to host Islamic Television shows.
Looking forward to the criticism, the Federal Government and PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority) requests to invite Islamic scholars to the shows apart from the actors. The Punjab Assembly calls for a ban on showbiz celebrities after the passing of a resolution.

The resolution was moved by the lawmaker of Pakistan Rahe Haq party as a request to the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority for the imposition of ban on the celebrity hosts from taking part in the Ramzan transmissions.
According to them, just because of the ratings, transmissions are hosted by people who do not anything about Islam.
