According to the Director-General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Emergency Services Rescue 1122 Dr. Khateer Ahmed, the work is underway to start the Rescue 1122 services in the merged districts and will be completed soon.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson, a total of 14 new rescue centers would be established in the merged districts including 2 rescue centers in each district. Similarly, one center would be established in each six ex-FR.
Dr. Khateer Ahmed said that modern machinery and equipment are being purchased along with the new requirements that would be made through Pakistan Testing Service (PTS).
Rescue 1122 initially started in Punjab now plans to become a nationwide service, by adding its service into KP districts. The emergency service will become Pakistan’s largest emergency service covering two provinces. Currently, the organization serves and has a presence in 36 districts of Punjab and is providing technical assistance to other provinces as well. Rescue 1122 has rescued millions of victims of emergencies through its Emergency Ambulance, Rescue & Fire services and Community Emergency Response Teams while maintaining its average response time of 7 minutes and standards in all districts of Punjab province with an estimated population of over 100 million.
Earlier it was reported that province Baluchistan is likely to get Rescue 1122 services, the organization is currently working on expanding its service to Baluchistan. The organization had also signed MoU with online cab services to make use of technology and provide quick services to users in extreme emergency situations.
