It has been advised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony to the general public that they must not deposit Hajj dues in any bank or with any Hajj Group Organiser (HGO) or whatsoever directly or indirectly unless the Hajj policy 2019 is announced.
The ministry has given warning that strict action would be taken against the banks and the HGOs, who would be found receiving Hajj dues directly or indirectly from the public without getting the ministry permission, it was informed in a news release.
The ministry further added that to receive Hajj dues is unlawful and is subjected to legal action as the ministry has not announced the Hajj 2019 policy so far, hence the banks or HGOs are not permitted to collect Hajj applications or dues from the public.
