Redmi is rolling out the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition update to the Redmi Note 9 in India. The company previously rolled out the same update to the global variant.

According to reports, the update for the Redmi Note 9 in India comes with build number V12.5.2.0.RJOINXM. The software update enhances performance and brings October 2021 security patches.

The update will gradually spread across all Redmi Note 9 devices in the country. So if your device hasn’t received this update, you might have to wait a little more.

The Redmi Note 9 came in May 2020 with Android 10-based MIUI 12. It features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It measures 162.3 x 77.2 x 8.9 mm and weighs 199 g, while it has a plastic frame and plastic back.

Under the helm, the device is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G85 (12nm) paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The device has an octa-core processor – 2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 and a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

Camera-wise, this device has a quad-camera setup on the rear side – 48 MP (wide) + 8 MP (ultrawide) + 2 MP (macro) + 2 MP (depth). At its front, we get a single 13 MP lens.

This Redmi device has a 5020mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It comes in three color options – Forest Green, Midnight Grey, and Polar White and has a price tag of $ 169.00 (£ 154.99 / € 170.00 / ₹ 16,220).
