Fawad Chaudhry, the Science and Technology Minister has announced that Ramadan is likely to start from April 25.
He posted on Twitter that the Ramadan moon would be seen on the evening of 24th of April and the holy month is anticipated to commence from the 25th of April.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has remained unsuccessful to offer an accurate starting date for the months of Zeeqad and Rajab. Sadly, some people always look for creating a divide in the society on Islamic events rather than celebrating them, as said by the minister.
On the 5th of March, the Science and Tech Minister would also be informing the parliament’s committee on the religious affairs in this matter.
Back in the month of May, the Ministry for Science and Technology had introduced a website referred to as the Moon Sighting Pakistan for ending the dispute around the moon sighting once and for all.
The website has got a 5 year Hijri calendar which has been formed under the guidelines of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII).
The ministry had also formed a smartphone app called “The Ruet” that offers features similar to the website.
