As many as 23 people lost their lives due to the rain and heavy snowfall related incidents in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), while 17 others sustained injuries.
The spokesperson of the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) said that more six bodies were retrieved during the ongoing rescue operation in Sargan Bagoli. With the recovery of six more dead bodies, the number of people killed in the incidents increased to 23 including 11 women.

According to the details, at least 10 people still remain missing and 17 others got injuries.
The spokesperson of the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) further said that the relief goods such as warm clothes and daily use items are being sent to the affected areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
On the other hand, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider has directed all the concerned authorities to initiate an immediate rescue operation in the areas of the state where are being affected by the rain and heavy snow falling.
PM AJK further directed the SDMA to collaborate with the relevant departments and rush to the far-flung remote areas of the state to provide relief to the affected people at the earliest.
