Pakistan Railways has begun the refund process of all the unused tickets from all the reservation and booking offices, as announced by the Chief Commercial Manager of Pakistan Railways.
The officer has said in a statement that the railway department has to pay back Rs.110 million in the lieu of ticket refund. Furthermore, the authorities of railways have also issued the guidelines for the refund of tickets to the divisional commercial officers of all the 7 divisions.
On the 20th of March, the Pakistan Railways had offered to completely refund the advance ticket payments to all the passengers who booked their tickets earlier for the suspended train services amid the coronavirus outbreak fears.
The authorities of railways have announced that only the ones who had booked their advance tickets from the reservation counters at the stations had to visit the stations.
They also said that the ones who reserved their tickets online or via using other services are not needed to visit the railway stations. They should use the same ways for ticket cancellation that they used for the booking of the tickets.
The authorities also informed that the online ticket holders would also be able to use the full refund policy.
