Railway Minister invites Korean private companies to invest in Pakistan

The Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways—Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad has invited the Korean companies to invest in the infrastructure of the Pakistan Railways.

As per the media reports, the Railway Minister was talking to his South Korean counterpart Huang Seong Kyu in Seoul.

“We want to turn the Pakistan Railways into a modern transport entity on the pattern of South Korea,” Sheikh Rasheed said. The minister further said that Pakistan desires to benefit from the professional experience of Korea.

He further said that, during the period of the next five years, Pakistan is undertaking a project to upgrade 1872 km rail track from Karachi to Peshawar. He further invited several private companies of Korean to become a part of the mega project in Pakistan.

The federal minister further told the Korean minister that Pakistan Railways is also working to connect the Gwadar port with the other cities Pakistan through the railway network. “Pakistan Railways is also planning to link our railway with the European railway network through Turkey and China,” Sheikh Rasheed added.
