The authorities have suspended as many as six officers of the Pakistan Railways for showing negligence while performing their duties which led at least 75 people to death.
As per the details, 75 people have lost their lives on October 31 as Tezgam Express caught fire. According to the details shared by the Pakistan Railways, the suspended officers were of grade 17 and 18.
The details claim that the Railways administration has suspended the Commercial Officer of Karachi Division Junaid Aslam, Assistant Commercial Officer Ahsanul Haq, Sukkur Division Assistant Commercial officers Abdi Qamar Sheikh and Rashid Ali, and the deputy superintendents of the Railways police Dilawar Maimon and Habibullah Khattak.
The decision to suspend the officers was taken following an inquiry of the incident conducted by the federal government inspector of railways. The inquiry officer will submit a detailed report of the Tezgam Express incident in the next two weeks.
According to the details of the incident, the Tezgam Express had caught fire near Rahim Yar Khan which spread to three bogies of the moving train which was heading towards Rawalpindi from Karachi. As many as 75 people have lost their lives in the incident.
