Quetta’s Temperature Drops Down to -5 Degrees


Quetta’s temperature has dropped down to -5 degrees this Tuesday.

According to the reports, multiple cities across Balochistan have been gripped in cold ever since December started. Earlier today, -6 degrees was reported Kalat. In the coastal areas of the province such as Gwadar, the temperature was recorded at 12 degrees.

Sibi’s temperature was recorded at 5 degrees while Nok Kandi was at 3 degrees. As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), cool winds are expected to blow in the province.

After Balochistan’s degrees dropped, Karachi became chilly as well. The MET department predicted that Karachi’s temperature will also take a dip as low as 10 degrees by Friday.

Conversely, the northern areas of Pakistan are covered in a white blanket. Multiple cities in Khyber PK and Gilgit-Baltistan reported snow and rainfall with a forecast of more.

Ever since winter made its way into the country, smog has reappeared all over Pakistan. In Punjab, cities like; Sadiqabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Lodhran, and Khanewal reported thick smog Tuesday morning.

A number of motorways such as the Peshawar-Islamabad motorway and the M-5 Sukkur motorway have been closed for traffic. Visibility on the National Highway dropped between 10-50 meters.

Citizens have been directed not to travel unless absolutely essential and take all important protective measures.
