Qualcomm To Launch Snapdragon 778G SoC Tomorrow 19th May

Snapdragon 778G

Earlier its was reported that Qualcomm will release a new Snapdragon 7 series 5G chip on May 19. This is the Snapdragon 778G 5G, 6nm EUV process, and the A78 core is also decentralized. Qualcomm’s new generation of Snapdragon 7 series already has Snapdragon 780G and other products.

Snapdragon 778G is equivalent to a further castrated version of the former, but the process technology is not Samsung 5nm but TSMC 6nm EUV. The CPU core is a customized version of Kryo 670 with A78 architecture, the highest frequency is also 2.4GHz, and the integrated GPU is Adreno 642L, which is probably the core of the down-frequency version of Snapdragon 780G.

Qualcomm said that both CPU and GPU performance has increased by 40%

The ISP unit has also been reduced, this time it is Spectro 570L, the dual camera has dropped from 64+20 million pixels to 36+22 million pixels. The baseband specifications are not castrated, integrated Snapdragon X53 5G baseband, supports Sub-6G frequency band 5G, but the supporting mobile connection system is FastConnect 6700 instead of FastConnect 6900 of Snapdragon 780G/888. Fortunately, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are both available. Moreover, the Snapdragon 778G does not drop but rises in fast charging, and supports 100W QC5 fast charging.

According to Gizmochina, it is also expected that Honor 50 series could be the first to adopt Qualcomm’s new SoC snapdragon 778G and later more manufacturers would adopt the SoC and integrate it into their upcoming smartphones.
