On Monday a meeting was called by the Prime Minister Imran Khan for discussing the offer of the Emir of Qatar to upgrade 5 major airports in Pakistan.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has proposed to upgrade the airports for making them into international standard and modernized facilities. He has also suggested the monetary and technical support of Qatar.
The government needs to decide about the way this offer would be fulfilled.
Ghulam Sarwar Khan—the Aviation Minister is to attend the meeting which is to be held today along with the officials of the Civil Aviation Authority. It is also anticipated that the outsourcing of the airport service contracts would be done to the international contractors.
Recently, it was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs—Qatar that Pakistan would be issuing a visa on arrival to the Qatari nationals.
