Qatar has placed a ban on the arrival of travellers from 14 nations from Monday as a preventive measure against the rapidly spreading coronavirus disease.
The government of Qatar has made the announcement that the temporary ban on travellers from Pakistan, Iran, China, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Nepal, Syria, Thailand, Bangladesh, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand and Sri Lanka.
It is important to mention that Qatar Airways had already suspended the flights to and from Italy, which has reported 366 deaths in the outbreak of the disease.
Qatar gas reported 3 more cases of the virus thus making the total count to 15. The death toll from the virus outbreak in Italy has increased by at least 133 in the last 24 hours.
Italy has implemented a quarantine in Lombardy and other badly affected areas, affecting about 16 million people as it increased its efforts for tackling the largest coronavirus outbreak of Europe.
The step has come as the country is struggling to contain the spread of the virus, with 1,247 new cases detected in the span of the last 24 hours.
On the other hand, as per the latest development, no positive coronavirus cases have been identified so far at the Pakistan Iran border quarantine centre. The people there would be sent back home after they stay in the setup quarantines for a week’s time.
