Emir Sheikh of Qatar—Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani had a telephonic conversation with the Prime Minister Imran Khan. During the conversation he appreciated the peace gesture displayed by Pakistan by releasing the Indian pilot after his aircraft was shot down.
The Indian Wing Commander—Abhinandan Varthaman was released by Pakistan on Friday as a gesture of peace after his aircraft was shot down by the Pakistan Air Force and he was captured.
As per the Foreign Office spokesperson—Dr Mohammad Faisal, the Qatari Emir lauded the efforts of Pakistan and highlighted the importance of immediate de-escalation.
The spokesperson took it to Twitter and tweeted that the Emir of Qatar and PM Khan had spoken on phone and that the Emir lauded the gesture of Pakistan of releasing the Indian pilot and stressed on the immediate need of de-escalation.

Relations between Pakistan and India are pretty tense following the blame that India has placed on Pakistan of harbouring terrorists behind Pulwama attack without providing any proof.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in response called India for dialogue and asked them to give actionable intelligence.
Indian military craft on Tuesday, broke the LoC as they entered from the Muzaffarabad sector but were forced to return immediately due to the on-time response of the Pakistan Air Force.
Pakistan on Wednesday confirmed that it has shot down the Indian aircraft which crossed over the LoC and has captured one pilot.
