The province of Punjab has witnessed a sudden rise in the coronavirus cases after Eid-ul-Azha.
The per-day cases which had reduced to on an average below hundred during the past one week have again surged to nearly three hundred.
However, some medical professionals were not disturbed and announced it a routine rise, whereas others are of the belief that it might be a signal for the start of the second wave of the virus.
Punjab province has reported 227 new confirmed cases of coronavirus other than 5 deaths during the past 24 hours against 235 cases a day prior.
Of all the new cases, hundred cases were reported from the city of Lahore against 52 cases a day before, fifty-eight cases from Rawalpindi, twenty-five from Gujranwala, thirteen from Multan, eleven from Sialkot and eight from the sports city, Gujrat.
The health department on Thursday shared the official figures as per which the total number of confirmed cases in Punjab has reached 93,847.
The provincial government has performed 5,424 coronavirus tests during the span of the last 24 hours throughout the province. Most of these tests were conducted by private laboratories.
