Usman Buzdar, the CM Punjab, has given approval in principle to hire more than 10,000 police officers for filling the empty positions. The decision was taken in a provincial cabinet meeting on Friday, as informed by the Information Minister of Punjab, Fayyaz ul Hassan Chauhan in a press conference in the provincial capital of Punjab.
Chuhan said that during the meeting, CM Buzdar was given a briefing on how the shortage of police force makes barriers in the active patrolling and vigilance duties. Taking notice of the issue, he gave approval in principle to make appointments. The related authorities have been told to abide the due procedures.
Furthermore, the provincial government has allocated a heavy budget of Rs.49 billion for the department of police. This budget would be distributed in phases for the complete revamp of the police of Punjab, as informed by the minister.
On the other hand, as per the latest updates, government is considering to establish thousand shelter homes across the country. So far fifty Panagahs have been established to facilitate the homeless people of the country.
PM Khan also informed that a database is being formed of all the ones benefitting from the Panagahs.
