Private unregistered schools will be closed in 7 days’ time. A 7-day deadline warning has been issued by the Punjab government to the private schools to issue new fee vouchers that comply with the directives of the Supreme Court.
Murad Raas, the provincial education minister has issued orders to private schools across Punjab to follow the recalculated fee by District Register Authority’ (DRAs) in 2017.
While addressing a press conference at the DGPR office, he made this statement. The warning was given by Raas that the license will be canceled of non-complying schools. The government will seal the schools if they don’t follow the orders, as per the minister.
He said, “We had previously implemented the Supreme Court’s orders viz-a-viz and so will do this time around as well.”
Adding, “We have sent notices to all such schools with a limited timeframe to get them registered. All unregistered schools will be shut down as soon as the deadline ends.”
Parents are also allowed to visit the District Education Authorities (DEAs) daily between 3 pm to 4 pm for resolving their problems, as per the minister.
The parents can first refer to the online Complaint Management System (CMS) and then if the problem does not get resolved they can visit DEAs.
