The Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar has said that province would soon be able to conduct 10,000 coronavirus tests on a daily basis, as per the reports of local media.
He was heading a meeting of the Rawalpindi elected representatives.
CM Buzdar said that more than 43,000 tests have been performed so far in the province of Punjab.
He also said that the measures that have been adopted by the government to combat against the coronavirus are delivering beneficial outcomes. He further stated that the commission would be given the authority to relax the lockdown at the local level.
He also said that field hospitals have also been set up to deal with the pandemic coronavirus in Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi and in other cities of the province.
The CM Punjab further indicated that a strategy is being made to offer relief to the general public during the holy month of Ramazan.
He also said that many industries have been permitted to manage their operations after a comprehensive review of the case and the public has been told not to take unnecessary advantage of the relaxation in the lockdown.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has so far reported more than 5,900 cases of coronavirus and the death toll has reached to 107.
