It has been announced by the Punjab transporters that fares will be reduced by 18% after successful talks with the Punjab government.
Punjab government has demanded the transporters to reduce the fares across the province to provide relief to the people amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
Provincial government and the transport are on one page in this to reduce the fares by 18% across the province. This was announced by the President Punjab bus owners association.
He said that once the public transport resumes, the reduced fares will be applicable. On Friday, the Chief Minister Usman Buzdar granted in-principle approval for resumption of public transport across the province.
Also, earlier the Punjab government finalized the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for resuming the public transport across the province.
The government officials had a meeting with the transporters. Standard operating procedures (SOPs) were drafted to resume transport services in the province.

It has been decided that the passengers should at least have three feet distance when boarding. Air conditioning should be turned off and windows must be kept open.
At each terminal hand, sanitizer must be available and face masks must be mandatory for every passenger. Travelers with fever or cough should not be permitted to travel on the bus.
