Sardar Usman Buzdar—the Chief Minister of Punjab has given approval for the changes in the uniform of Punjab police and new dress code would be assigned to the police next year.
He has approved navy-blue pant and light-blue shirt for the police. During his visit to the CPO on Tuesday, the CM was briefed regarding the law and order situation.
He also inaugurated a new mobile phone application for providing different services to people at the Police Service Centres. The Chief Minister also paid a visit to the Complaint Cell and the Monitoring Cell.
CM Buzdar was briefed regarding the modes of operations of these cells. He was also informed regarding the revamping of Punjab Highway Patrolling Police.
The IGP also said that under the guidance of the CM Punjab, the police would be working day and night for reducing crimes.
The police department is making use of modern technology for providing maximum services to the public, as informed by the IGP. He also said that the working and performance of SHOs was also being monitored at the police stations by CCTV cameras.
The Chief Minister was also given briefing regarding the reforms in Punjab Police and other steps taken for the training courses during a conference at the committee room of the Central Police Office.
He was told that special attention was being given for the improvement of the behavior of the police and it has been included in their training courses.
