Punjab is ready to launch Corona Relief Tiger Force as the provincial government wants to replicate the model of Corona Relief Tiger Force which was initially established and tested by the federal government in Sialkot.
For the Tiger Force in Pakistan, 993,226 volunteers have been registered. In Punjab, the number is 647,411. Volunteers include teachers, students, engineers, medical workers, lawyers, social workers, and activists.
The duties of the Tiger Force include facilitating the operation of utility stores, implementation of SOPs at Mosques, help the functioning of isolation and quarantine centers, recognize hoarders, profiteers, and the deserving people in the locality, and ration distribution.
As per the qualification and age duties will be assigned to the volunteers and they will be given the training on security, quarantine, relief, health, and awareness. Also, a code of conduct has been issued for that volunteering.
Tiger Force will operate under the district steering committee supervision. It comprises of deputy commissioner (convener), district police officer, additional deputy commissioner (revenue), national assembly members and other notables of the area.
Earlier on it was reported that the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will inaugurate CRTF in Punjab. But the meeting was later on called the meeting with the force members in Sialkot. Now as per the latest development CRTF will be functional followed by a formal address by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday.
