The Chief Minister of Punjab ordered to shift 10,800 government schools to solar energy. Following this, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, the Health minister made the announcement regarding a similar plan. She aims to get all public hospitals in Punjab to operate on solar power. As the world is moving towards renewable energy sources, Pakistan is also trying to catch up.
In a syndicate meeting held at the Fatima Jinnah Medical University, the Provincial Minister announced this.
The statement issued by Directorate General Public Relations Punjab, presiding over the 13th syndicate meeting held at Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Dr. Yasmin said that all the facilities needed will be provided at the Mother and Child Healthcare Hospital.
She also made an announcement to shift the university to solar power. Also, she agreed to install a new tube-well in FJMU to ensure the supply of clean water.
The CM Punjab, earlier ordered to shift the schools to solar power by December 2019. Thus, the areas in which transmission lines are not available can also receive solar energy.
