As of the rising number of coronavirus in the country, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid appeals to the people of the region to wear a face mask.
In a recent interview, she stated:
The situation can go out of control if precautionary measures are neglected,
It’s known to all that the cases of COVID-19 were on a continuous decline during the first wave of the virus. But soon as things started settling down and people returned to their normal routines, the second wave showed up. Things are now turning upside down. The number of cases is on the rise.
The minister further added that some 600 areas of Punjab are under smart lockdown. The positive-test cases are under treatment in different hospitals.
The most recent data from NCOC is 2,304 in the past 24 hours. The data also mentioned that some 37 patients expired due to the virus.
If this continued in the province, a strict lockdown could be imposed which will lead to further destruction of the economy.
