As per sources, the government of Punjab is pondering on the decision to reimpose a 2-week lockdown in Lahore from Monday, after there had been a surge in the coronavirus cases.
Regarding this, the final approval would be given by PM Khan after consulting with the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
Grocery shops, medical stores, and other shops that sell important items would remain open during the 2-week lockdown.
As per sources, the provincial government has also taken the decision of ensuring strict implementation of the SOPs.
It is pertinent to mention that PM Khan on Thursday had said that time has come to implement the SOPs strictly against COVID-19 and announced to monitor the implementation of the government orders personally.
PM Khan while addressing a press conference about the coronavirus epidemic had said that the death rate was surging owing to the virus as the nation is anticipated to experience its peak in July.
PM Khan had said that the federal authorities were completely in the knowledge of the rise in the COVID-19 cases after the strict lockdown measures were lifted.
