The government of Punjab has taken the decision of converting an engineering university into a mega quarantine centre.
The university is the Kala Shah Kaku campus of the University of Engineering and Technology. The decision has been taken for providing the quarantine facility to the coronavirus patients.
The facility has got the capacity of hosting 816 people.
The Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar has also made a sixteen-member committee that would be functioning under the supervision of the Minister of Law, Muhammad Basharat Raja.
The committee is formed to ensure the continuous supply of the medicine and medical equipment and tools and other needed steps for curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
The CM Punjab also visited a multiple isolation centres that have been developed to combat this tough time when the whole world is affected by the coronavirus epidemic.
He was told that 15-air conditioned buses would be used for shifting the patients at the Old terminal airport of Lahore.
He was further briefed that 4 ambulances and 10 motorcycles have been positioned at each facility.
