After approval by the Punjab chief minister-Sardar Usman Buzdar, a request has been sent to the finance ministry for buying 77 new vehicles for the Government of Punjab.
The chief minister wants the concerned department to show their appearance to the committee regarding the issuance of the funds.
A summary has been sent to the Ministry of Finance seeking funds release for the buying of the new vehicles for the parliamentary secretaries and chairmen of the various standing committees.
Fawad Chaudhry, federal minister for information and spokesperson of chief minister Punjab Dr Shahbaz Gill in their separate statements informed that the request for the purchase of new vehicles has been made by several departments earlier but got declined owing to the current economic conditions and also because of the PM’s economic drive.
Recently Punjab Assembly passed a bill unanimously asking a raise in the salaries and allowance of the lawmakers. This act has placed the entire assembly under criticism. Prime Minister Imran Khan also rebuked the bill following it the bill was taken back.
For the briefing regarding the same matter Usman Buzdar, CM Punjab had a meeting with Prime Minister in the federal capital.
