Punjab Govt. Officials To Get Dress Code

The day after a Supreme Court judge reprimanded the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore for not wearing proper clothes, the Punjab government issued a dress code (notified) for officials to appear before the courts during office hours.

According to the report, the directive issued by the welfare department said that it was important for the Punjab government officers to adopt a proper dress code during office hours and while appearing before the courts. Officers were also instructed to behave like an officer and to adopt a style which reflects good manners and style with his professional character.

The directive issued to all divisional and deputy commissioners, all administrative secretaries and senior members of the Board of Revenue in this regard said, “All those working under your administrative control Male officers may be instructed to wear a lounge suit with appropriate dress code ie closed collar shirt and tie.
