On Monday, the government of Punjab announced a raise in the salaries of the police officers. The government has decided to bring their salaries equal to the PAS Officers (Pakistan Administrative Services Group).
All those officers who work in the CPO (Central Police Office) and Police headquarters will get a raise of about 120 percent whereas the field officers will get a raise in their salaries by 80%.
In this regard, official notification has been issued by the Finance Department.
As per the notification, around 240 police officers working in CPO and police headquarters will get a raise of 120%. Among these 240 police officers, there are; 123 DSPs, 53 SPs, 38DIGs, 23 SSPs, 13 Additional IGs and Assistant Directors.
1236 police officers from grade 17, 18, and 19 have got a raise of Rs.70, 000, Rs.86, 000 and Rs.115, 000. The salaries of the officers of grade 20 have increased by Rs.129, 000 while the officers from grade 21 received an increase of Rs.144, 000.
The salary increase will not be applied to those officers who have been transferred from the other department on a contractual basis. Also, the notification will not be applied to those who have been rewarded with the Superior Executive License.
