The provincial education minister for Punjab Murad Raas on Monday hinted at the reopening of all schools in two shifts across Punjab from mid of the upcoming month of September.
In his statement, the provincial education minister said that Punjab government is considering reopening of schools in two shifts as this step would be better for the children.
The minister further said that the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus will be finalized during the meeting with the owners of the schools and further added that the final decision about reopening of the educational institutes across the province will be taken in the first week of September.
It is pertinent to mention here that during the last week, the decision was made by the government that all educational institutes across the country would be reopened from September 15.
Shafqat Mahmood—the Federal Education Minister had chaired a meeting with all provincial ministers for education. During the meeting, it was finalized that all educational institutions would resume classes from the next month. Last week, the provincial education minister of Sindh Saeed Ghani had warned against the early reopening of schools in the province.
