The PTI-led provincial government of Punjab will start random testing of the people for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) across the province from Tuesday.
“Punjab to start random testing in the general population from tomorrow for an assessment of #COVID_19 prevalence. This will help draw a complete epidemiological assessment of the situation,” Punjab’s Health Department said in a tweet on Monday night.
According to the details of the random testing, the samples will include these places in the starting: hospitals, mandis, markets, residential areas, and pharmacies.
It is pertinent to mention here that the provincial government of Punjab had conducted a total of 150,756 tests of the novel coronavirus as of 2 am Tuesday. Out of the total tests, 5,526 people had been tested positive for the virus.
According to the details, as many as 84 people have lost their lives across the province due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) so far and 1,183 patients of the coronavirus have recovered.
On the other hand, the government of Punjab has introduced smart sampling across the province to curb the spread of coronavirus that has taken a grip on the entire world.
