All the private and Public/government schools in Punjab will enjoy summer vacations starting from May 17, the Education Minister Rana Mashood Khan has announced it today.
Rana Mashhood Khan who is the provincial minister for Schools Education has confirmed that the schools will go on holidays from May 17 and will resume classes by August 10.
The decision came amid the upcoming holy month of Ramadan 2018. It is expected that Ramadan will commence in Pakistan by either May 16 or May 17, 2018. It is a good decision by the government of Punjab to allow pupils to stay at home during the hot summer and Ramadan.
Summer holidays used to be started from the June 1 every year; this year due to Ramadan Punjab government has decided to start summer vacations little earlier providing relief to teachers, staff and pupils equally.
The Sindh government has already announced early summer vacations, commencing from May 14 until July 16, however, calling children back to schools in the mid of July is still not a good decision, the government should revisit there announced holidays.
Earlier it was announced that Summer Vacations are expected to commence by June 8 until June 10. Other reports indicate that the Summer vacations would commence as they used to be from June 1 to August 14, indicating that the holidays might start early due to the month of Ramadan 2018.
