Due to the novel coronavirus, public transport in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan remains shut. Passengers are facing trouble due to this decision. As per the spokesperson of the Balochistan government, the pandemic will spread if the transport is resumed. However, the transporters said that their financial problems have increased due to the suspension of public transport in Balochistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government and transporters ended their deadlock and both parties agreed to resume transport services in the province.
Train services have also been resumed across Pakistan. The Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed said that the ticket booking office will also open on 22nd May from 8:00am to 5:00pm as due to the improper working of online booking system people have not been able to book tickets.
Federal Minister in a statement said that for the reservation of the tickets at Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Sukkur, Peshawar and Quetta stations just a single window will be opened.
It would be passengers’ responsibility to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to avoid the spread of coronavirus He said that people have been advised to maintain a reasonable distance from each other, wear masks, put on sanitizers, wear glozes and keep soap with them.
