A public holiday has been announced by the Sindh government on October 2nd, Friday. The reason giving holiday on 2nd October is as it is the urs of the renowned Sufi Saint of Sindh Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. In this regard, a notification was circulated.
According to the report, on the day, all the public educational institutes would remain closed. The holiday will be observed across Sindh on 14th Safar. It is the second month of the Hijri calendar – which marks Shah Latif Bhitai’s death anniversary.
For three days, the urs ceremonies last in Bhit Shah Town. This town is located in Matiari District, 29 miles or 47 kilometers from Hyderabad.

Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai was a famous Sindhi philosopher, Sufi, saint, mystic, and a renowned poet. He is known as one of the best Muslim poets of the Sindhi language. Bhittai is remembered as the poet of Sindh.
