PTI govt retrives Mercedes cars from Nawaz Sharif's residence Jati Umra

The government officials on Thursday have retrieved the bullet-proof Mercedes of the Cabinet Division from the Jati Umra residence of the former three-time Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif.

As per the details, the Cabinet Division asked Nawaz Sharif on June 28 to return the luxury cars. The luxury cars were given to the former prime minister from the PM House on May 31, 2017.

The Cabinet Division sent a letter asking to return the cars to the transport pool immediately as they were not underused of Nawaz Sharif anymore.

The letter by the Cabinet Division was received by the superintendent of the Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail who handed the letter over to Nawaz Sharif. A copy of the same letter was also sent to the Vice President of PML-N and the daughter of former PM Maryam Nawaz in which the Cabinet Division demanded the official Mercedez back.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan—a special assistant to the PM on Information and Broadcasting in her tweet said that the retrieval process of the government’s missing goods has started from the Jati Umra residence of the former PM.

She further wrote on Twitter that the poor people of Pakistan are getting buried under poverty while the Sharif family members were enjoying in the luxury cars.
