PTCL (Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited) continues with its tradition to create Breast Cancer awareness in the organization across Pakistan. In association with Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center, a special seminar was conducted earlier today, not only for PTCL female employees but also for female family members of the male employees of the company.
The reports stated that the main aim of the online session was to raise awareness on self-examination and condemn common traditions that surround this disease. Dr. Umm-e-Farwa Ali Zaidi Guest speaker, from Jinnah Sindh Medical University, explained the risks of Breast Cancer and how early detection can allow people to live a healthy life. Furthermore, the speaker gave detailed information on the self-examination procedure and also took questions from the participants.
Group Chief Human Resource Officer, PTCL & Ufone Syed Mazhar Hussain said PTCL, being a caring organization, endeavors to provide a healthy work environment and host sessions on creating awareness on various issues such as mental & physical well-being, stress management, work-life balance, between others.
He further added that Breast cancer is growing day by day in Pakistan and there is a terrible need to educate people and to spread awareness on early detection to save lives. PTCL’s collaboration with Shaukat Khanum is evidence of our commitment towards this cause said, Syed Mazhar Hussain.
PTCL is running a complete digital awareness campaign on Breast Cancer for its female staff under The Pink Club. Also, PTCL has turned its corporate logo pink on all social media platforms to show unity with the cause. PTCL, through such initiatives, endeavors to educate its employees and their friends and families to live a healthy and prosperous life.
