Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL) has been declared as the fastest growing network in Pakistan. It has got a brand value of USD 119 Million (which is more than 12.3 Billion Rupees). During the Mobile World Congress 2018 at Barcelona where the ceremony was held this announcement was made by the Brand Finance.
A trophy was presented to Dr. Daniel Ritz—President and CEO-PTCL by the CEO of Brand Finance—David Haigh.
Syed Shahzad Shah—EVP-Marketing and Communications, PTCL, Adnan Shahid—Chief Commercial Officer, PTCL along with other significant management officials of the Brand Finance and PTCL were present on the occasion.
Brand Finance is the world’s top independent brand valuation and strategy consultancy, with its headquarters based in London. In 2017, Brand Finance valued the Etisalat brands portfolio in which the brand value of PTCL stood at USB 86 Million.
PTCL has become the fastest growing brand in Pakistan with an increase by 37.5 percent in value in just the span of a single year. It has also become the second top telecom brand of the country to be valued above $100M—which has improved its ranking by twenty-one points and have placed the brand on the 214th rank in Brand Finance’s Telecoms 300 2018 league table.
The huge growth of the brand is because of the extensive brand-building efforts put in by the firm last year, which included the sponsorship of the national Pakistan Cricket Team, Hockey Team and the active participation of PTCL in Pakistan Super League where it has partnered with Islamabad United cricket team and has been the official telecom ally of the FC Barcelona in 2017 in Pakistan.
Additionally, focusing on performance and giving back more to the community via the different corporate social responsibility measures like free medical camps, countrywide drive for blood-donation, etc also have helped the brand in image building efforts.
