PTA has revealed a complete framework to test and develop a 5G network in Pakistan. 5G is the current, innovative technology that has grabbed the attention of tech geeks. It is claimed that one of the reasons for banning Huawei in the USA is due to its complete control of the 5G network.
In Pakistan usually, new technology is introduced when it gets a bit old elsewhere. But this time it is not the case. Pakistan is one of the first countries that has started preparing for 5G technology. A complete framework has been unveiled by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to test and develop the 5G network.
There has been an increase in demand for improved internet quality with the rise in mobile internet users in Pakistan. For companies like Huawei, Pakistan’s 4G market is suitable for investment and development of the new 5G technology.

Due to its heterogeneous environment, it is claimed that Pakistan’s environment is perfect for the successful launch of 5G.
In comparison to the previous generations of mobile broadband communication systems, the International Mobile Telecommunications-2020 (IMT-2020 Standard) is much broader. Thus, the 5G network is highly capable in areas with low latency. The framework set for the development of 5G in Pakistan will enable the use of the radio spectrum on a trial basis.
But the trials will not just be restricted to scientific research. Thus, the Government of Pakistan is inviting all its stakeholders to take part in the subject trials. The companies that sign the agreement with the government for the trails will be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and Pakistan Engineering Council, R&D Organizations and Academic Institutions.
