Pakistan Telecommunications Authority has extended the date for mobile phone registration until the 3rd of July.
There has been an extension of the deadline until the 3rd of July for the GSMA- valid IMEIs seen on the cellular networks however not currently registered with the authority.
As per the authority, the extension has been offered to provide relief and facilitate the public during the coronavirus pandemic and to make sure that social distancing is practiced during these times of crisis.
All the mobile devices that are connected to the local cellular networks and using local SIM cards need to get registered within the span of 60 days from the first use of the device on the local mobile networks in the country.
The PTA has released a Device-Identification Registration and Blocking System for GSMA valid device IMEIs. The cell phone users could register their devices on the website or could dial *8484#.
If the device is blocked one would be notified after the 4th of June via SMS.
