Proton X70 SUV has been spotted doing test round again. It is expected that as Proton X70 has made test rounds a couple of times it will be launching soon in Pakistan. A couple of months back High Commission of Malaysia also gave an indication of the preliminary debut of the company’s Proton X70 SUV in Pakistan.

Back in December 2018, Proton X70 was launched and since then the company has sold 26000 units of the vehicle. Also, Proton X70 was the first premium SUV produced by a Malaysian automotive brand. Proton and its partner Geely jointly manufactured it.
There were three variants of the car i.e. Proton X70 1.8 TGDi Premium 2WD, Proton X70 1.8 TGDi Executive 4WD, and Proton X70 1.8 TGDi Executive 2WD.
Under the Auto Development Policy (ADP) 2016-21, Al-Haj Group recently acquired the Greenfield status to manufacture Proton cars in Pakistan. Under the new auto policy, tax-based incentives were given to many automakers as Greenfield status was granted to them.

Initially, the company invested $30 million to launch CKD units of Proton with a yearly capacity of 25,000 units. It is expected that the production facility will be ready by June 2020. It is expected that this investment will create over 2000 direct and 20,000 indirect jobs.
There is high anticipation attached to the entry of the Proton car in the local market. It will help in giving the people more options from which they can choose.
