Proton has Officially Entered Pakistani Market

Among the series of agreement between Malaysia and Pakistan, the joint venture between Malaysia’s Proton and Pakistan’s Al-Haj Group has been the focal point. Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad came for a three-day visit to Pakistan, attended the 23rd March parade and signed on few mega agreements with Pakistan.

The proton cars manufacturing would begin from June next year. 

About the Proton plant development in Pakistan the Board of Investment Chairman Haroon Sharif during a ceremony in Islamabad said, “We were told that the first Proton plant, which will be assembled here, will be on the roads in Pakistan by next June. These partnerships are just the beginning and I look forward to more and more partnerships.”

Recently the assembly deal was signed for development of Proton plant near the southern port city of Karachi.

According to Haroon Sharif both the countries are ready to transform their bilateral trade relations in to business transactions.

During PM Khan’s visit to Kuala Lumpur, 10 Malaysian investors showed interest to invest in Pakistan. 4 out of them came with PM Mahathir Mohammad on this visit while others are working on some business modalities in Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad gifted a proton car to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on his visit to Pakistan.
