Religious parties and student groups will be going on protest today all over Pakistan condemning the decision taken by US President Donald Trump on recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Roads going towards the American Consulate have been blocked totally by protestors in Lahore.
Also, huge number of security guards and personals have been deployed all around the US Consulate building in Karachi to stop any unfortunate incident.
The protest started on the call by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Sirajul Haq. He said, “Trump’s Jerusalem move is like adding fuel to the fire.”
He said that Trump has put the world peace at stake by making this decision. PTI Chairman Imran Khan expressed quite similar sentiments and said that the whole Muslim Ummah should join hands against this US decision.
On Wednesday Trump made the announcement that he is recognizing the disputed city of Israel, Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Many foreign leaders have stepped forward and criticized the decision made by Trump and people from all the world have expressed their deep anger via social media.
Leaders from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey France, Germany and the European Union has given warning to Trump against his move.
Trump said, “I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.” “It’s right thing to do,” he declared.
Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain stepped forward and said that Pakistan will take this issue to all available mediums. He said that the ceremony held in Islamabad on Thursday to mark National Voters’ Day.
