Private Schools Federation Urges Govt. to Reopen Schools from June 1

The All Pakistan Private Schools Federation has asked the government to grant permission to reopen schools from the 1st of June under the prescribed SOPs.

President Kashif Mirza shared his views that keeping the schools shut until the 15th of July is bad for education. He also said that it would become impossible to make up for the learning loss that is to be experienced by 20 million students owing to the schools’ closure.

He also said that dozens of educational institutes will close permanently and 1 million people would lose their jobs if schools are not granted the permission to operate, he further maintained that the teachers’ salaries are fixed and 90 percent of the schools are being managed within rented buildings.

He asked PM Khan to announce a relief package for the private schools.

In the meantime, a press conference was held by the office bearers of the All Pakistan Schools Management Associations at the Press Club of Karachi where they asked that the schools should be allowed to resume their activities after Eid.

Previously, the Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said that the provincial government has introduced a mobile educational app for the children of kindergarten to grade 5 students.

The minister said that via this application, students can study in Sindhi, Urdu, and English.
