It has been reported that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on Thursday (today) will participate in a virtual high-level event on Financing for Development in Era of COVID-19 and Beyond.
According to the details shared by the Foreign Office, the event is being hosted by the prime ministers of Canada and Jamaica and the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN).
The details further said that the Presidents of France, South Africa, Kazakhstan, and the Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom (UK), Japan, Norway, Italy and Ireland, the German Chancellor, and the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will address the high-level event.
In his address, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan will share his vision on the possible ways to address the debt issue and the enormous financial challenges facing developing countries.
The debt vulnerability of developing countries will be one of the six interlinked financial issues to be discussed at the event.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC) is planning to launch 7 national parks across Pakistan under the ‘Green Stimulus’ initiative of the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami project. This will conserve more than 650,042 hectares (ha) of forest areas.
