On Monday, all students returned to their schools as all the classes both of primary and secondary resumed across the province of Sindh.
Earlier, the middle school classes resumed their educational activities in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Balochistan. But, the province of Sindh has taken the decision to not reopen after many students, teachers and other staff tested positive for the virus.
The Sindh government also delayed the reopening of the schools as many schools were breaking the SOPs after which they were sealed.
The previous week, the education minister of Sindh-Saeed Ghani had made the announcement that the provincial government has taken the decision to reopen both the lower secondary and primary classes from 28th September.
He also asked all the schools and other educational institutions to educate the students regarding the SOPs on a per-day basis. He also issued warning that strict action would be taken against the schools which are not abiding with the directives.
So far, Sindh has reported 136,017 cases and there are 2,492 deaths associated with the virus.
