President World Bank to Visit Pakistan Today

David Malpass—the President of World Bank is scheduled to reach Pakistan today on a 2-day visit for having talks with the leadership of Pakistan.

According to the details, Malpass during his 2-day visit would be having talks with the leadership of Pakistan and would discuss the means of strengthening the country economy.

The visit has got special significance in the backdrop of the recent inclusion of Pakistan among the top-20 global reformers on Ease of Doing Business Index.

Pakistan has risen 28 places on the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index and has attained a place among the top 10 nations with the most improved business climate.

Pakistan was ranking 136 earlier, carried out reforms in the last one year that has assisted it in improving its ranking to 108, the World’s Bank—Ease of Doing Business 2020 as per a yearly report cited as mentioning.

While talking to the media, Hafiz Sheikh—the advisor on Finance said that Pakistan has been in contact with the World Bank President, who has lauded the continuous reforms programme in the country.

He added that the President of World Bank wants to further boost the relationship between Pakistan and the Bank.
