President Trader Union has been arrested by the local police today over the accusations of violating coronavirus lockdown restrictions, as per the reports of local media.
Hammad Poonawala, the President All City Trader Union, has been arrested by the police along with four others.
The traders had opened their shops defying the lockdown orders, hence the police took the action and the Iron Market area of the city was entirely closed.
The members of the All City Trader Union has claimed that the police has forced them to close the shops.

The traders of Karachi has summoned an emergency meeting previously in the day after their deadline expired which was given to the government of Sindh for resuming business activities in the city.
The government of Sindh had asked the traders to wait until Tuesday before finalizing the SOPs that are required for resuming the business operations.
Jameel Paracha, the Sindh Tajir Ittehad has said that they will be finalizing the next move if any bars from the government emerges and stops from reopening of the shops.
On the other hand, Asad Umar, the Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives has said that creating public awareness is essential for controlling the spread of coronavirus.
