The PPMA fears that there might be a possible shortage of medicines in the country. The Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association in its announcement said that owing to the shortage of raw materials, the medicines manufacturing is soon to come to a halt in the nation.
The production is being dispersed owing to the halt in the import of raw materials in the nation.
The association also clarified that the responsibility of the shortage of medicines in the nation cannot be handled at the end of PPMA.
The Manufacturers’ Association has also offered advice to the public to ensure that the medicines of the daily usage are available with them.
It is pertinent to mention that back in the month of January, the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) has given a notice about the reduction in the prices of 89 medicines on the orders of the PM Khan after the federal cabinet decreased the prices in its meeting.
Dr. Zafar Mirza, the special assistant to PM on Health had earlier said that the federal cabinet had taken the decision of reducing the prices of 89 medicines by 15 percent. He also said that the prices of the various life-saving drugs have also been decreased.
