Power Minister Urges Turkish Firms to Invest in Power Sector

Omar Ayub—the Minister for Power and Petroleum urged the Turkish firms to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, especially in the power sector, as per the reports of local media.

While talking to the Turkish ambassador to Pakistan—Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul said that the energy sector of Pakistan was growing fast and the renewable energy potential was huge which needs to be tapped by the international investors.

As per a statement issued from the ministry, Omar Ayub said that the new renewable energy policy was in the pipelines for its approval which would open the sector for new investment.

During the meeting matters regarding bilateral cooperation between the two nations especially in the energy sector were discussed.

Both the leaders were of the opinion that special areas would be identified by both the nations for the upcoming visit of the Turkish President for further enhancing the cooperation in the energy sector between the two nations.

While talking on the occasion, the Turkish ambassador thanked the federal minister for continued support to the Turkish firms working in Pakistan. He said that many Turkish investors are closely abiding with the growing energy sector of Pakistan and are ready to invest in different fields.
