The investors and businessmen of Portugal have shown interest to make an investment in the development projects of Pakistan Railways.
The businessmen while talking to Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed—the Minister for Railways in the federal capital said that the economy of Pakistan is growing fast and they would benefit from the opportunities of investment and partnership, as per the reports of local media.
The minister apprised the investors of Portugal of the ongoing development projects in the railways sector of Pakistan. He said that Pakistan welcomes the investment of the private sector.
Sheikh Rasheed have shown confidence that the Portuguese investment would help in curbing the deficit of Pakistan Railways.
On the occasion, the railways minister also briefed the Portuguese businessmen that work on the Main Line One—ML-1 project would commence next year.
He said that the new 1872-kilometer railway track between Karachi and Peshawar would usher in a revolution in the railway sector.
