It is a widely known and accepted fact that the law and order situation of Pakistan has improved considerably. The Portuguese government has recently acknowledged this fact and has termed Pakistan safe for travelling.
The Portuguese government has permitted its citizens to travel to Pakistan. It has issued a new advisory for its citizens, which mentions that the security situation in Pakistan has improved significantly owing to the determined efforts of Pakistan Army and the law enforcement agencies.
This has permitted the Portuguese people to approach the business market in Pakistan and visit the various different tourists’ spots like GilgitBaltistan, Hunza and other such areas.
Not just this, the Pakistani embassy has even designated a counter for the Portuguese tourists and businessmen as per the instructions of the government of Pakistan.
In the meantime, the Peshawar museum has given a 2000-year-old Buddha sculpture to Switzerland for an exhibition in Zurich. The Swiss embassy in Pakistan has observed and recorded the journey of the ancient and unique statue captioned as “Buddha Shakyamuni” that was moved from Peshawar Museum to Rietberg Museum.
As per the Assistant Curator and in charge of Peshawar Museum Asif Raza this Buddha was excavated in the year 1909 from Sahri Bahlol. The sculpture is nearly two thousand years old.
The Deputy Head of Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland—Daniel Valenghi said that he wants to thank Pakistan that they lent this Buddha out of their nation to Switzerland.
Other nations have also shown deep interest in visiting and seeing this Buddha statue from Pakistan. This further indicates the significant of religious tourism.
